The MNP (Mobile Number Portability) system was successfully installed in one of the CIS countries in 2023. The system is intended for optimizing the function of transferring mobile numbers when changing operators and regulating all the related processes in mobile communication networks.
The most interesting MNP feature in this case is the availability of the MNP-SRF nodes: each of them is connected to one of four telecom operators of the republic. The platform acts as an arbitrator between them and maintains all possible operations for changing/returning numbers.
Delivery of such a large system for the regulator is a far-reaching project that requires both implementation of the system and follow-up work to support its functionality. Thus, six months after the launch, the first update package was prepared.
The function of uploading data to the external systems of interested departments of the republic was carefully worked out. Now the platform provides a comprehensive report on all the processes taking place at the MNP level: the number of registered subscribers, application statistics, analytics for each operator, etc.
Prompt and complex work with the data helps to find problems in time, for example, to detect illegal operations if the number of requests for the porting of mobile numbers essentially differs from the actual transfers. That will allow you to fix and work out the problem with the corresponding authority. The social significance that was meant to be revealed in this solution now goes to a new level.
Most importantly, the first update package does not carry fundamental changes, since all large systems have prospects for advancement. Now we are actively searching for cases that can present new opportunities for the MNP System, both at the level of a specific system in the CIS country, and at the level of the telecom market overall.
We managed to implement a stable, highly functional system in 2023, and six months later we released its first update. Sounds promising!
